The founder of Tarantismo, one of India's most recognised dance companies, meet Arati Sunawala. Vehement about sharing her love for performing arts, she has performed more than 15 dance forms over the years.

Originally from a theatrical background, she stumbled upon Belly dance, a dance form which is often disparaged in India.

Captivated by it's grace, she went on to teach this arabic dance form along with various others, to over a 1000 students nationally and internationally.

She produces thematic short films and has directed a good number of stage musicals for both children and adults, winning prestigious awards like "Best Director","Best Producer"and "Best Play Awards" at the Thespo Theatre Festival in Mumbai.

Arati has conceptualized and choreographed 9 original dance dramas with themes ranging from womaen empowerment to challenging the role of belief system in the 21st century.

Travel is a huge passion for her and her family, not only for the beauty of the place but also for the rich artistic culture that it offers.

She encourages "taking time off for yourself" and does so herself, through a myriad of interests ranging from reading, writing to yoga and even comedy!

Arati believes that stories bind our species together and that the arts are an essential stimuli for survival.
