Fondly known as Rajani Tai, Prof. Rajani Paranjpe is a professional social worker who has devoted a major portion of her life to educating lesser privileged children.
The compassionate crusader is a veteran professor whose research led her to find that one's life is framed by the type of basic education one receives.

As an educator, she is determined to enrich lives and introduce education to families that are unaware of its benefits, this being her driving force for Founding The Door Step School in 1987 to help the underprivileged.

Her unique venture consists of innovative approaches like community libraries, networking & nurturing schemes, and School on Wheels which have helped keep kids in schools without having to literally do so.

Since inception, the organization has reached over 1 million learners in Mumbai and Pune, having over 1 Lakh members in just 2019-20. She understands the role parents and other corporations play in education and encourages a more realistic approach.

Rajani Paranjpe has a Master's in Social Work and is a retired professor, having taught subjects like Indian Social Problems and International Social Welfare. She has held posts at both the College of Social Work, Mumbai and the Shikoku Christian University, Japan with a teaching experience of more than 20 years.
